Sura Al-Ma'un
Sura Al-Ma'un (Arabic: سورة الماعون, Small Kindnesses/Almsgiving/Have You Seen) is the 107th sura of the Qur'an in 30th part of the Quran with 7 ayat. It is Meccan sura.
سورہ الماعون قرآن مجید کی 107 ویں سورت جس میں 7 آیات ہیں۔ یہ 30 ویں پارہ میں ماجود مکی سورت ہے
Name
The Surah has been so designated after the word al-ma`un occurring at the end of the last verse.
نام
آخری آیت کے آخری لفظ الماعون کو اس سورت کا نام قرار دیا گیا۔
Period of Revelation
Ibn Marduyah has cited Ibn Abbas (Allah Bless Them Both) as saying that this Surah is Makki, and the same also is the view of Ata and Jabir. But Abu Hayyan in Al-Bahr Al-Muhit has cited Ibn Abbas, Qatadah and Dahhak as saying that this Surah was revealed at Madinah. In our opinion there is an internal piece of evidence in the Surah itself which points to its being a Madani Revelation. It holds out a threat of destruction to those praying ones who are unmindful of their Prayers and who pray only to be seen. This kind of hypocrites were found only at Madinah, for it was there that Islam and the Muslims gained such strength that Islam and the Muslims gained such strength that many people were compelled to believe from expedience, had to visit the Mosque, join the congregational Prayer and prayed only to be seen of others, so as to be counted among Muslims. Contrary to this is, at Makkah conditions were altogether different. No one had to pray to be seen. There it was difficult even for the believers to pray in congregation; they prayed secretly and if a person prayed openly he did so only at the risk of his life. This kind of hypocrites found in Makkah did not comprise those who believed and Prayed to be seen but those who in their hearts had know, and acknowledged the Holy Messenger of Allah (Peace Be Upon Him) to be on the true path, but were avoiding to accept Islam in order to maintain their Position of leadership and authority, or were not prepared to take the risk of being afflicted with the kind of hardships with which they found the believers afflicted in the society around them. This condition of the hypocrites at Makkah has been described in verse no. 10-11 of Surah Al- Ankabut. (For explanation, see E.N.'s 13 to 16 of Surah Al-'Ankabut).
زمانۂ نزول
ابن مردویہ نے ابن عباس اور ابن الزبیر رضی اللہ عنہما کا قول نقل کیا ہے کہ یہ سورہ مکی ہے اور یہی قول عطاء اور جابر کا بھی ہے۔ لیکن ابو حیان نے البحر المحیط میں ابن عباس اور قتادہ اور ضحاک کا یہ قول نقل کیا ہے کہ یہ مدینہ میں نازل ہوئی۔ اس سورت کے اندر ایک داخلی شہادت ایسی موجود ہے جو اس کے مدنی ہونے پر دلالت کرتی ہے۔ اور وہ یہ ہے کہ اس میں اُن نماز پڑھنے والوں کو تباہی کی وعید سنائی گئی ہے جو اپنی نمازوں سے غفلت برتتے اور دکھاوے کے لیے نماز پڑھتے ہیں۔ منافقین کی یہ قسم مدینے میں ہی پائی جاتی تھی،کیونکہ وہیں اسلام اور اہل اسلام کو یہ قوت حاصل ہوئي تھی کہ بہت سے لوگوں کو مصلحتاً ایمان لانا پڑا تھا اور وہ مجبوراً مسجد میں آتے تھے، جماعت میں شریک ہوتے تھے اور دکھاوے کی نمازیں پڑھتے تھے تاکہ انہیں مسلمانوں میں شمار کیا جائے اس کے برعکس مکے میں ایسے حالات سرے سے موجود ہی نہ تھے کہ وہاں کسی کو دکھاوے کی نماز پڑھنا پڑتی۔ وہاں تو اہل ایمان کے لیے نماز باجماعت کا اہتمام بھی مشکل تھا۔ ان کو چھپ چھپ کر نماز پڑھنی پڑتی تھی اور کوئی علانیہ پڑھتا تھا تو جان پر کھیل کر پڑھتا تھا۔ منافقین کی جو قسم وہائی پائی جاتی تھی وہ ریاکارانہ ایمان لانے اور دکھاوے کی نمازیں پڑھنے والوں کی نہیں، بلکہ ان لوگوں کی تھی جو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ و آلہ و سلم کے برسر حق ہونے کو جان اور مان گئے تھے، مگر ان میں سے کوئی اپنی ریاست و وجاہت وار مشیخت کو برقرار رکھنے کی خاطر اسلام قبول کرنے سے گریز کر رہا تھا اور کوئی یہ خطرہ مول لینے کے لیے تیار نہ تھا کہ مسلمان ہو کر ان مصائب میں مبتلا ہو جائے جن میں وہ ایمان لانے والوں کو اپنی آنکھوں کے سامنے مبتلا ہوتے دیکھ رہا تھا۔ مکی دور کے منافقین کی یہ حالت سورۂ عنکبوت آیات 10 – 11 میں بیان کی گئی ہے۔
Theme and Subject Matter
Its theme is to point out what kind of morals a man develops when he refuses to believe in the Hereafter. In vv. 2-3 the condition of the disbelievers who openly belie the Hereafter has been described, and in the last four verses the state of those hypocrites who apparently are Muslims but have no idea of the Hereafter, its judgment, and the meting out of rewards and punishments accordingly has been described. On the whole, tie object of depicting the attitude and conduct of two kinds of people is to impress the point that man cannot develop a strong, stable and pure character in himself unless he believes in the Hereafter.
موضوع اور مضمون
اس کا موضوع یہ بتانا ہے کہ آخرت پر ایمان نہ لانا انسان کے اندر کس قسم کے اخلاق پیدا کرتا ہے۔ آیت 2 اور 3 میں ان کفار کی حالت بیان کی گئی ہے جو علانیہ آخرت کو جھٹلاتے ہیں اور آخری چار آیتوں میں ان منافقین کا حال بیان کیا گیا ہے جو بظاہر مسلمان ہیں مگر دل میں آحرت اور اس کی جزا و سزا اور اس کے ثواب و عِقاب کا کوئی تصور نہیں رکھتے۔ مجموعی طور پر دونوں قسم کے گروہوں کے طرزِ عمل کو بیان کرنے سے مقصود یہ حقیقت لوگوں کے ذہن نشین کرنا ہے کہ انسان کے اندر ایک مضبوط اور مستحکم پاکیزہ کردار عقیدۂ آخرت کے بغیر پیدا نہیں ہوسکتا۔
