Sura Al-Isra\Sura Bani Israil
Introduction
Sura Al-Isra (Arabic: سورة الإسراء,"The Night Journey"),also called Sura Bani Israil (Children of Israel) is the 17th chapter of the Qur'an in 15th part (Juz) of the Quran with 111 Verses.It is a Meccan sura.Sura Al-Isra\Sura Bani Israil,Ayat 109 require prostration (Sajda-e-Tilawat).

سورۂ الاسراء (عربی زبان کا لفظ الاسراء معنی رات کا سفر) جو سورۂ بنی اسرائیل (اسرائیل کی اولاد) بھی کہلاتی ہے قرآن مجید کی 17 ویں سورت جو 15 ویں پارے کے آغاز کے ساتھ شروع ہوتی ہے۔ اس سورت میں 111 آیات اورآیت نمبر 109 میں سجدہ تلاوت ہے۔
Name
This Surah takes its name "Sura Al-Isra" from the first Verse
(Arabic:سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي أَسْرَىٰ بِعَبْدِهِ لَيْلًا مِّنَ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ الْأَقْصَى الَّذِي بَارَكْنَا حَوْلَهُ لِنُرِيَهُ مِنْ آيَاتِنَا ۚ إِنَّهُ هُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُ), which tells the story of the Isra and Miraj.
This Surah takes its second name Sura Bani Israil from Verse No.4

Period of Revelation
The very first Verse indicates that this Surah was revealed on the occasion of Miraj (Ascension). According to the Traditions and books on the life of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him), this event happened one year before Hijrah. Thus, this Surah is one of those which were revealed in the last stage of Prophethood at Makkah.
زمانہ ٴنزول
پہلی ہی آیت اس بات کی نشان دہی کر دیتی ہے کہ یہ سورت معراج کے موقع پر نازل ہوئی ہے ۔ معراج کا واقعہ حدیث اور سیرت کی اکثر روایات کے مطابق ہجرت سے ایک سال پہلے پیش آیا تھا اس لیے یہ سورت بھی انہی سورتوں میں سے ہے جو مکی دور کے آخری زمانے میں نازل ہوئیں۔
Background
The Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) had been propagating Tauhid for the previous twelve years and his opponents had been doing all they could to make his Mission a failure, but in spite of all their opposition, Islam had spread to every corner of Arabia and there was hardly any clan which had not been influenced by his invitation. In Makkah itself the true Believers had formed themselves into a small community and were ready and willing to face every danger to make Islam a success. Besides them, a very large number of the people of Aus and Khazraj (Two influential clans of Al-Madinah) had accepted Islam. Thus the time had come for the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) to emigrate from Makkah to Al-Madinah and there gather together the scattered Muslims and establish a state based on the principles of Islam.
These were the conditions when Miraj took place and on his return the Holy Prophet brought down the Message contained in this Surah.

پس منظر
اس وقت نبی صلی اللہ علیہ و آلہ و سلم کو توحید کی آواز بلند کرتے ہوئے ١۲ سال گزر چکے تھے۔ آپ کے مخالفین آپ کا راستہ روکنے کے لیے سارے جتن کر چکے تھے۔ مگر ان کی تمام مزاحمتوں کے با وجود آپ کی آواز عرب کے گوشے گوشے میں پہنچ گئی تھی۔ عرب کا کوئی قبیلہ ایسا نہ رہا تھا جس میں دو چار آدمی آپ کی دعوت سے متاثر نہ ہو چکے ہوں ۔ خود مکے میں ایسے مخلص لوگوں کا ایک مختصر جتھا بن چکا تھا جو ہر خطرے کو اس دعوت حق کی کامیابی کے لیے انگیز کرنے کو تیار تھے۔ مدینے میں اوس اور خَزرج کے طاقتور قبیلوں کی بڑی تعداد آپ کی حامی بن چکی تھی۔ اب وہ وقت قریب آلگا تھا جب آپ کو مکے سے مدینے کی طرف منتقل ہو جانے اور منتشر مسلمانوں کو سمیٹ کر اسلام کے اصولوں پر ایک ریاست قائم کردینے کا موقع ملنے والا تھا۔ان حالات میں معراج پیش آئی، اور واپسی پر یہ پیغام نبی صلی اللہ علیہ و آلہ و سلم نے دنیا کو سنایا۔
Theme and Topics
This Surah is a wonderful combination of warning, admonition and instruction, which have been blended together in a balanced proportion.
The disbelievers of Makkah had been admonished to take a lesson from the miserable end of the Israelites and other communities and mend their ways within the period of respite given by ALLAH, which was about to expire. They should, therefore, accept the invitation that was being extended by Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him) and the Quran. Otherwise they shall be annihilated and replaced by other people. Incidentally, the Israelites, with whom Islam was going to come in direct contact in the near future at Al-Madinah have also been warned that they should learn a lesson from the chastisements that have already been inflicted on them. They were warned,
"Take advantage of the Prophethood of Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him) because that is the last opportunity which is being given to you. If even now you behave as you have been behaving, you shall meet with a painful torment."
As regards the education of mankind, it has been impressed that human success or failure, gain or loss, depends upon the right understanding of Tauhid, life-after- death and Prophethood. Accordingly, convincing arguments have been put forward to prove that the Quran is the Book of ALLAH and its teachings are true and genuine the doubts of the disbelievers about these basic realities have been removed and on suitable occasions they have been admonished and rebuked in regard to their ways of ignorance.
In this connection, those fundamental principles of morality and civilization on which the Islamic System of life is meant to be established have been put forward. Thus this was a sort of the Manifesto of the intended Islamic state which had been proclaimed a year before its actual establishment. It has been explicitly stated that that was the sketch of the system on which Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him) intended to build human life first in his own country and then in the outside world.
Besides these, the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) has been instructed to stick firmly to his stand without minding the opposition and difficulties which he was encountering and should never think of making a compromise with unbelief. The Muslims who sometimes showed signs of impatience, when they met with persecution, calumny, and crooked arguments, have also been instructed to face adverse circumstances with patience and fortitude and keep full control over their feelings and passions. Moreover, salat was prescribed in order to reform and purify their souls, as if to say,
"This is the thing which will produce in you those high qualities of character which are essential for everyone who intends to struggle in the righteous way Incidentally, we learn from Traditions that Mi'raj was the first occasion on which the five daily Prayers were prescribed to be offered at fixed times.

اس سورت میں تنبیہ، تفہیم اور تعلیم ، تینوں ایک متناسب انداز میں جمع کر دی گئی ہیں۔
تنبیہ، کفار مکہ کو کی گئی ہے کہ بنی اسرائیل اور دوسری قوموں کے انجام سے سبق لو اور خدا کی دی ہوئی مہلت کے اندر ، جس کے ختم ہونے کا زمانہ قریب آلگا ہے، سنبھل جاؤ، اور اس دعوت کو قبول کر لو سے محمد صلی اللہ علیہ و آلہ و سلم اور قرآن کے ذیعہ سے پیش کیا جا رہا ہے، ورنہ مٹا دیے جاؤ گے اور تمہاری جگہ دوسرے لوگ زمین پر بسائے جائیں گے۔ نیز ضمناً بنی اسرائیل کو بھی، جو ہجرت کے بعد عنقریب زبانِ وحی کے مخاطب ہونے والے تھے، یہ تنبیہ کی گئی ہے کہ پہلے جو سزائین تمہیں مل چکی ہیں اُن سے عبرت حاصل کرو اور اب جو موقع تمہیں محمد صلی اللہ علیہ و آلہ و سلم کی بعثت سے مل رہا ہے اس سے فائدہ اُٹھاؤ، یہ آخری موقع بھی اگر تم نے کھو دیا اور پھر اپنی سابق روش کا اعادہ کیا تو دردناک انجام سے دوچار ہوگے۔
تفہیم کے پہلو میں بڑے دلنشین طریقے سے سمجھا یا گیا ہے کہ انسانی سعادت و شقاوت اور فلاح و اُن شبہات کو رفع کیا گیا ہے جو ان بنیادی حقیقتوں کے بارے میں کفار مکہ کی طرف سے پیش کیے جاتے تھے۔ اور استدلال کے ساتھ بیچ بیچ میں منکو ین کی جہالتوں پر زجرو توبیخ بھی کی گئی ہے۔
تعلیم کے پہلو میں اخلاق اور تمدن کے وہ بڑے بڑے اصول بیان کیے گئے ہیں جن پر زندگی کے نظام کو قائم کرنا دعوت محمدی کے پیش نظر تھا۔ یہ گویا اسلام کا منشور تھا جو اسلامی ریاست کے قیام سے ایک سال پہلے اہل عرب کے سامنے پیش کیاگیا تھا ۔ اس میں واضح طور پر بتا دیا گیا کہ یہ خاکہ ہے جس پر محمد صلی اللہ علیہ و آلہ و سلم اپنے ملک کی اور پھر پوری انسانیت کی زندگی کو تعمیر کرنا چاہتے ہیں۔ان سب باتوں کے ساتھ نبی صلی اللہ علیہ و آلہ و سلم کو ہدایت کی گئی ہے کہ مشکلات کے اس طوفان میں مضبوطی کے ساتھ ساتھ اپنے موقف پر جمے رہیں اور کفر کے ساتھ مصالحت کا خیا ل تک نہ کریں۔ نیز مسلمانوں کو ، جو کبھی کبھی کفار کے ظلم و ستم اور ان کی کج بحثیوں ، اور ان کے طوفان کذب و افتراء پر بے ساختہ جھنجھلا اُٹھے تھے، تلقین کی گئی ہے کہ پورے صبر وسکون کے ساتھ حالات کا مقابلہ کرتے رہیں اور تبلیغ و اصلاح کے کام میں اپنے جذبات پر قابو رکھیں۔ اس سلسلہ میں اصلاح نفس اور تزکیہ نفس کے لیے اُن کو نماز کا نسخہ بتایا گیا ہے، کہ یہ وہ چیز ہے جو تم کو اُن صفات عالیہ سے متصف کرے گے جس سے راہ ِ حق کے مجاہدوں کو آراستہ ہونا چاہیے۔ روایات سے معلوم ہوتا ہے کہ یہ پہلا موقع ہے جب پنج وقتہ نماز پابندی اوقات کے ساتھ مسلمانوں پر فرض کی گئی۔
